Bea-Finney_MS-&-IABea Finney began bowling in the early 1940’s.  She fell in love with the sport and soon became one of the top female bowlers of that era in Manitoba.  She was a founding member of the Empress Queens league and she also bowled in the All Arena Senior Mixed league.

In April 1967, Bea was also named “Tenpin Lady Bowler of the Week” by the “Weekly Bowling Roundup” (Winnipeg based bowling publication from mid 1960’s – early 1970’s) for a high four game series.

Bea was a founding member of the Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association and was a director on that board for over 15 years (1948-64), serving as President from 1951-56.  During her term as a director on the Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association she assisted in the hosting of countless tournaments and served on several committees.

Although records of her many bowling achievements were unavailable, throughout her bowling career Bea Finney’s character and bowling prowess established her as one of the top female bowlers in Manitoba from the 1940’s to early 1970’s.

During her competitive years, Bea bowled in several WIBC annual tournaments in tri-state events in Grand Forks where she captured a few championships.  In over 30 years of bowling she won several local and provincial tournaments, league championships (Duffy’s Team 1965-66 Senior Mixed League) and captured countless high average, high series and high single titles.
