Mid 1960’s
Charlotte began tenpin bowing in the Neepawa Mixed League at Evans Lanes in Neepawa.

1960’s-70’s
Evan’s Lanes took out tenpin bowling, Charlotte and her league went to Thunderbird Lanes traveling to Brandon each Sunday.
Charlotte bowled in the Neepawa Mixed League for 15 years.

1979-80
Moved to Winnipeg and was Secretary of the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies League at Empress Lanes.

1980
Moved back to Brandon and rejoined the Neepawa Mixed League at Thunderbird.

1981
Was approached to let her name stand for director of the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association, however she was not elected to the board.

1982
Elected Director of Brandon Women’s Bowling Association

1983
Director on the Manitoba Provincial Women’s Bowling Association Board of Directors

1984
Elected as Secretary of Brandon Women’s Bowling Association  in the 1984-85 season, a position she held until 2003-04.

  • Sorted, compiled all old records and prepared yearbooks for all previous seasons, a publication that she continued to produce until  retiring from the board in 2003-04
  • Initiated the use of computers for record keeping and maintained these files throughout her term as Brandon Women’s Bowling Association Secretary
  • Co-implemented the Bob Hack Memorial Senior City Singles
  • Initiated and implemented the Brandon Bowler of the Week & Year program which continues to run today
  • Organized and ran the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association raffle for two years before handing it over to their fundraising committee
  • Volunteer at several Winnipeg Bingo fundraisers
  • One of the founders in the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association “600” Club Tournament that continues to present.
  • Re-organized the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association into committees to facilitate and improve board operations
  • Published a semi-annual newsletter for Brandon Bowlers
  • Initiated the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association “High Single Scratch Game Award” and “Most Improved Bowler Award” which is still ongoing
  • Member of all Brandon Women’s Bowling Association committees throughout her term on the board.
  • Assisted or chaired all Brandon Women’s Bowling Association Tournaments

1993

Organized and co-chaired the Tournament of Champions until present

1996

Also assumed Secretary position and duties the of Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association until retiring in 2004

2000

Inducted in the Brandon Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame

Charlotte has bowled in several leagues:

Charlotte still continues to bowl in the Thunderbird Ladies League.  Her personal best high scores include a 256 High Scratch Single and 617 Scratch Series.
