MERITORIOUS SERVICE
Inducted 1988
Evelyn bowled tenpin for over 30 years and participated in leagues at Empress, Chateau and Northgate houses.
Her first duty was that of League Secretary, a duty which she performed for twenty-five years in the Winnipeg Senior Ladies League.
During this period, Evelyn was elected to the Board of Directors of the Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association, later assuming the duties of Vice President before being chosen President of the Association; a position she filled for thirteen years.
During this period, since there was no Provincial Ladies Association, the President of the Winnipeg International Bowling Congress, Alberta Crowe, appointed Evelyn to the board of the Canadian Tenpin Federation, which she served on for a period of eight years.
As if the foregoing wasn’t time consuming enough, Evelyn also found time to serve on the Board of the Winnipeg Junior Bowling Association.
When the Manitoba Provincial Women’s Bowling Association was formed, Evelyn was elected Vice President for 1975 to 1978 after which she became President for the next seven years.
As a Past President of the Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association and the Manitoba Provincial Women’s Bowling Association, she turned her efforts to the board of the Manitoba Tenpin Federation and served until 1987.
