Meritorious Service

Shirley began bowling in the 1960's.

1962-94 Bowled in the Friday Nite Mixed League.

1960's-90's Secretary of the Friday Nite Mixed League for approximately 25 years.

1970's Secretary of the Brandon YBC program.

1973-76 Director and founding member of the Brandon Women's Bowling Association. Attended many meetings with the WIBC/ABC to draft the women's bylaws.

1973-92 She was also instrumental in setting up the Brandon Women's Bowling Association Annual Tournament and the Ladies "200" Club tournament. She worked these tournaments for many years and also assisted for the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association's with their Annual March Tournament and helped finalize all the prize winners and financial reports for the tournament as well as score-keeping and postings.

1975-79 Co-Chair of the League of Nations Tournament.

1976-80 Chaired the Brandon Women's Bowling
Association fund-raising committee.

1976-82 Brandon Women's Bowling Association
President.

1980-82 Manitoba Provincial Women's Bowling Association board member.

1980's - 90's Assisted in the hosting of the Brandon City Singles Tournament and CTF Ladies Tournament numerous times.

1982-84 Served as Brandon Women's Bowling
Association Past-President and organized their Annual Meetings.

1983-90 Heart Fund Bowl-A-Thon participant and
volunteer.

During her over 30 years of bowling, Shirley competed in eight WIBC Annual Tournaments and had personal bests of 290 (single) and 679 (series).

Shirley was awarded with a Life Membership by the Brandon Women's Bowling Association for her many years of service
