Roy has been and continues to be an essential component in the organization and development of tenpin bowling in the Brandon region. In 1974 he was named a Honorary Life Member of the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association, which he served as a Director (1968-70), Vice President (1970-72) and President (1972-74). Roy still attends all executive meetings of the association to share his experience and volunteer his services.

Roy was Chairperson of the BTBA Annual Tournament for 15 years and has been Chairperson of the Manitoba Provincial Tenpin Bowling Association Tournament and Jamboree, Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association Tournament of Champions, Canadian Tenpin Federation Provincial Conference and assisted in the coordination and implementation of several other tournaments.

Through his participation and organizational assistance, Roy has supported the Heart Fun Bowl - A - Thon since its inception in 1972 to present. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Brandon Women's Bowling Association.

Roy has bowled for over 35 years and still continues to bowl in two leagues. He has participated in every Dauphin/Brandon Challenge Match since its inception in 1974 and even represented Manitoba at the CTF National Championship in 1981.
