MERITORIOUS SERVICE
Inducted 1990

Mike started bowling in 1936, and when he moved to Brandon he started two new leagues and served as President of both for several years.

Mike is a Charter Member of the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association, an undertaking that required him to travel to Milwaukee to the American Bowling Congress Headquarters back in the 1930's. Mike served as President of the BTBA for three years. He is also a Past-President of the Manitoba Provincial Tenpin Bowling Association.

Mike has organized many leagues over the years and along with Hap Fraser established a School Bowling Program, a task that involved meetings with school boards, principals and student councils. In addition, Mike qualified as a Level I Coach and established the Junior Bowling Program in Brandon.

Thirty years ago Mike and Roger Savoie organized the League of Nations Tournament, and Mike competed in the event annually. Mike was the official scorekeeper for the Brandon Annual Tournament for over 15 years.

Mike was a staunch supporter of the Canadian Tenpin Federation and had never missed a Tournament. He also worked hard on behalf of handicapped bowlers. Mike's dedication to the sport survives in his son Frank who is now very involved with the Junior program in Dauphin. Mike passed away in 1994.
