Bill Mundy began his bowling involvement in December of 1945 in Dauphin and re-located to Brandon in 1952, where he became a voting delegate of the Brandon Tenpin Association, which was part of the Winnipeg Bowling Association at that time.
In 1966, Brandon and Dauphin formed their own Association with a 13 member Board of Directors. Bill Mundy was appointed Secretary, a position he served for 20 years.
During this period, Bill prepared the Rules, Regulations and By-Laws for the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association and became a familiar figure to the Directors of the Winnipeg Men’s and Ladies Association.
During his span as Secretary, Bill was instrumental in the following bowling activities:
- Organizing the Brandon-Dauphin Challenge Match Tournament;
- Served as Secretary/Treasurer for the League of Nations Tournament for 28 years;
- Organized the Senior Mixed Doubles Tournament.
In 1977 Bill was honored with a Life Membership in the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association. In 1982 Bill was voted the Outstanding Volunteer in Community Sports by the Manitoba Sports Federation.
