1948 – 49 “49” was instrumental in setting up WIBC membership in Manitoba.

1950’s First to have a 600 Series in the Province of Manitoba.

1953 – $1,000. Won in a “Strike it Rich” tournament with U.S. and Canadian male bowlers at Bowlarena . Invited by Brunswick to officially open City Center Bowling Alley in Calgary, Alberta – 1958. Invited by Brunswick to officially open Starlite Bowl at Stony Plain, Edmonton, Alberta. Exhibition game was bowled against Elviral Toepfer (top lady bower from U.S.) – 1959.

1972 – Honored with Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association Life Membership. Honored with permanent membership with Women’s International Bowling Congress – 1970. 1975 – Gold medal for Mixed Teams Event . All-Events Winner in Manitoba Provincial Women’s Bowling Association Annual Tournament – 1980’s.

1948 – 89 – Has served at league level in various positions of office . Secretary of the Manitoba Bowling Council – 1988 – 89.

Jeanne Stear has been bowling for 53 years. Her average in the peak years was 175 – 180. She represented Manitoba twice in the Canadian Nationals. Was also a member of Winnipeg Women’s Bowling Association for 40 years and is one of the founding members of the association. Jeanne served as President of the WWBA Board in the 1950’s and was awarded permanent membership with the Women’s International Bowling Congress and Life Membership with the WWBA. Jeanne has served on the MPWBA Board of Directors for four years and was Vice President for two years. Also instructed youth bowlers at Circle O Bowling Lanes in the 1950’s and was the Winnipeg Junior Bowling Association President in the early 1960’s. She is presently coaching every weekend at the Canadian German Society bowling lanes with the Junior program.
